Personal Terms & Conditions
Boundaries for Living Well

Businesses have terms and conditions. So do relationships, conversations, work, family, access to our time and access to us.
Personal boundaries are not rules for controlling everybody around us. They help us decide what we are comfortable with, what we are responsible for, what we are not responsible for, and what we will do when something crosses a line that matters to us.
You do not need thirty rules. Start with one that matters to you and change it until it sounds like you.
Your terms are allowed to sound like you.
A small piece of boundary education
A boundary tells me what I will do.
A wish focuses on another person behaving differently. A boundary names the action you will take when a line that matters to you is crossed.
“If someone begins insulting me during an argument, I will end the conversation and return to it when we can speak respectfully.”
Before you write yours

These prompts are optional. Leave any of them blank.

Now write yours.
You don’t need thirty. Start with three.

My Personal Terms & Conditions
Only terms you have started writing appear here. Nothing you enter is sent to TDC or stored by this website.
Begin writing above and your personal terms will appear here.
You don’t have to copy ours.
Maybe one fits exactly. Maybe one needs changing. Maybe reading these made you realise yours is completely different.
Good.
Personal terms and conditions should be personal.
